A self-adhesive polyethylene foam strip applied around walls and penetrations before the floor goes in, so tile or stone never touches vertical surfaces. It leaves the 3/8 in. movement gap ARDEX requires in its exterior drainage systems and isolates acoustic-mat floors; the excess is trimmed after setting.
